After we had some fun in the studio, it was time to head out on location to a few of my fav spots for Santa Clarita senior pics!

So many of my clients want beautiful flower fields, but here in SCV that is pretty tricky especially when the weather can be in the 90s-100 for weeks at a time! What most people don’t realize is that even a small bush or a tree lined neighborhood can create a stunning backdrop ( I mean, just look at the incredible images in her green prom dress)!

I always say, don’t overthink it!! YOU should be the focus of your senior portraits and NOT the location! Sometimes the most simple and plain-ish locations and still help you deliver absolute magic!

Can I let you in on a little secret? When it comes to locations, did you know that the location itself is now what I am looking for? I mean, it sort of is.. obviously if I wanted the beach, I wouldn’t go looking for it in downtown LA! What I mean is when I’m scouting possible locations for senior portraits in Southern California, I am looking at LIGHT!! I always will choose magical gorgeous light over a location! Sometimes I’ll even pass on a location if the light is just so so.
