A 2012 Senior Model, Jasmine, did a senior portrait party with a group of her friends out in Vasquez Rocks. Super awesome place (although very bright and sunny in most spots) to shoot but I love to take photos over there. So we had a group of 4 pretty ladies and each girl was photographed separately, and all 4 in the group together. I’ll be posting the images of the other girls hopefully soon.

I played around a little bit with both OCF (off camera flash) using my Canon Speedlites and also with my big boys, the 800 AlienBees with a giant modifier. I still have a love hate relationship with these things. When they work, they’re amazing but when they don’t- OH So frustrating!!! The first image with the gorgeous blue sky was shot right in the bright sun and I used just my speedlites to try and overpower the sun to get the rich sky. The other images are all just using available light and that’s it. Special thanks go out to my friend, Crystal, for coming out and helping me!!

Courtney is a senior over at West Ranch High School and she did an amazing job on her makeup. I’m not usually a big fan of clients doing their own for a professional portrait session, but Courtney did great!! She knew how to mix colors to help make her eyes POP and play up her best features. I brought along some of my favorite accessories for each girl to use if they wanted for their mini shoots and had a blast. I think doing a session with a friend is an awesome way to make a super fun portrait session even better!! Enjoy!
