I absolutely love photographing these two and when Haylie told me she wanted to do some pictures styled like the old hollywood portraits I was super excited!! We did the session here in Santa Clarita in their home which worked perfectly. Haylie had some old pictures we used for inspiration. They wanted to channel the likes of Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. LOVE!!

I knew I wanted a lot of contrast and edgy lighting especially for the James Dean look on Danny. I usually do my portrait sessions using all natural light so this was a lot of fun getting to experiment a bit and try something different. I am in love with photo enhancing tools over at Imagenomic and used a few of their settings during the editing process. They have one called Real Grain and it’s great for emulating film. Since I was a film shooter way back in the day, I love grain and these old hollywood portraits definitely called for it!
