Juliette : Hart High School Senior Portraits

cheetah shirt skinny jeans outfit for senior portraits in filmore california

Meet one of my current 2020 models, Juliette! She currently attends Hart High School and is a part of her school softball team! She doesn’t quite know where she wants to go to college yet, but she knows she wants to major in political science. She loves chocolate chip cookie dough and her favorite drink is lemonade! Yum!

Juliette’s Hart High School Senior Portraits took place in Filmore and Ventura, California. I absolutely loved every single one of Jules’ outfits she brought because they were all very different but flowed nicely together. My favorite outfit of hers was her white dress and tan wedges! She rocked it! So simple yet soooo cute. Juliette has an incredible smile, but I have to say has one heck of a serious look! Enjoy “some” of my favorite pictures from Juliette’s shoot!

ALL ABOUT JULIETTE!!

Q. College Plans? If so, where?
A. 4 year university out of state

Q. College Major
A. Political Science

Q. What extracurricular activities are you involved in? List off any sports, interests, hobbies, or organizations you participate in.
A. I play softball for Hart high, I love spending time with friends and family. I also love snowboarding and being in the snow.

Q. What kind of look were you going for in your senior photos?
A. I wanted to wear clothes that I would wear on a day to day basis. I wanted a somewhat boho outfit and also a fancier look as well.

Q. How was your experience during your senior shoot?
A. I had the best day during my shoot! I was super nervous going into it but Tara made everything so easy and comfortable. What also made it so special was how Sarah was touching up hair and makeup throughout the day so I felt the best I could all day.

Q. What’s one piece of advice you’d give to anyone getting their senior photos taken?
A. I would say to stay true to what you like. A lot of girls I know that shoot with other photographers hate there pictures because it doesn’t represent them but they don’t want to speak up. I didn’t have this issue during my shoot which is what made it so perfect !!

Q. How many outfits did you take?
A. 7

Q. Would you have taken more or less, reasons why?
A. I probably would’ve taken one more just in case because some of my pieces got wrinkly in the car but we were able to make it work

Q. Did you accessorize differently with each outfit? If you have any tips on how many accessories, jewelry, shoes, headbands, etc they should bring, please list those tips here.
A. I changed my shoes for almost every outfit. I would also change your necklaces because it makes the close ups look different in each outfit. I would also try to incorporate a different hairstyle with one of your outfits. I was nervous about having my hair back, but the pictures with my hair in a low pony with a scarf are probably my favorite ones. Other than those two things I didn’t change much with my outfits because I didn’t want it to be overwhelming.

Q. Did you take any props or try to incorporate any activities that you’re in?
A. I took my senior hoodie that says my school name so that I could use that as one of the pictures on my grad announcements.

Q. Any tips on how to prepare for the session or must have things to bring?
A. I would definitely make sure to take small snacks to eat in the car and have a lite, but filling breakfast so you have energy. I also would do a face mask at least the morning before if you have dry skin because you do have a lot of makeup on all day.

Q. Any tips on hair/makeup? Where did you get your inspiration for this? Did you bring in pictures or have a plan prior to your styling?
A. For makeup I looked up eye makeup on Pinterest for blue eyes so that my eyes would be accentuated. For hair I just went with curling it so that I could change it up easily throughout the shoot.

Q. Did you find a store that had everything you were looking for?
A. I got all my shoes from Steve Madden. I got most of my clothes from Free People. I got both my dresses from Free People as well and the blue pants were also from there. I got my leopard body suit, black body suit, my orange shirt with the striped pants and my hair scarf from Salt and Freckles. The rest of my pieces were things I found in my closet when I was trying to match things with each other.

Q. What ended up being your favorite outfit and why?
A. My favorite outfit was the white shirt and blue flows pants because I think it encompasses my personality the most. I also felt super comfortable in it and I think that shows through the pictures. I also think we shot it in perfect locations.

Q. Let’s talk about locations. What location(s) did you choose for your session? Why did you choose that location? Do you wish you would have gone some place different or would you suggest where you went?
A. I wanted to have pictures at the beach so we kind of based the rest off of that. We stopped at places along the way to Ventura and I loved every single place we shot. I definitely would suggest shooting in these locations because there are so many different things to shoot by.

Q. What’s on your BUCKET LIST of things to do or see?
A. see the Eiffel tower
go bungie jumping
go to Tahiti
go cliff jumping
go to Italy

A. Not really!

Q. What was your favorite thing about your session or the overall experience?
A. My favorite thing about the overall experience was how confident I felt after and then how excited I was when the pictures turned out amazing!

Q. Why do you think senior portraits are important?
A. I think senior pictures are important because it gives girls confidence in themselves that they might have never felt before and makes them feel beautiful. I think it also represents a time period in your life that you won’t ever get to experience again.

Q. Why did you choose Tara Rochelle to take your senior pictures?
A. I chose Tara because I had a lot of friends who were on her model team in the past years and they would always rave about how amazing she is and the pictures definitely did her justice!

Filmore and Ventura are definitely popular destinations where a lot of seniors want to take their portraits because you have nature, city and beach vibes all in one location! I also have seniors get creative with their locations, which is what one of my 2015 seniors, Erica, did! Check out Erica’s Senior Portraits at Disneyland!
