Man it’s been a while since I’ve blogged! I want to showcase another one of my incredible models from my 2019 Model Team. Meet, Miss Hayley! Hailey is a recent graduate from Valencia High School and now attends San Diego State University!

Hayley’s downtown LA senior photo shoot was funky and creative, and was an incredibly fun day! One of my favorites! We started off her shoot in studio with a stylish outfit that complimented her perfectly! When I shoot girls in studio, I love making it funky and creative. They always have a fun time and, without fail, rock it!! It makes the experience that much more exciting when you can spice things up a bit. After some in studio fun, we headed out to do her awesome, creative senior shoot in downtown LA! Here are many of Hayley’s amazing pictures from her downtown LA senior photo shoot!

A. San Diego State!

A. Psychology with a minor in dance    

Q. What extracurricular activities are you involved in?  

A. I have been a part of my high school dance team since I was a freshman. I have also been in competitive dance since I was about 2 years old! I have been dancing for 15 years and I really would not be myself without dance!

Q. What’s on your BUCKET LIST of things to do or see?  

A. 1. I want to go to Greece or Amsterdam
2. I want to bungee jump off a bridge
3. I want to see the Northern Lights
4. I want to travel a lot when I am older

Q. FUN FACTS ABOUT HAYLEY!!  

A. – My favorite ice cream flavor is Chocolate Malted Crunch from Thrifty’s
– My favorite restaurant is Wood Ranch!
– My ALL TIME favorite drink is Dr Pepper!
– My favorite place to shop is Forever 21 and Free People!
– My favorite subject in school is science! Mainly chemistry
– My celebrity crush is Zac Efron!!
– My favorite movie is any scary movie honestly but my all time fav is the Harry Potter series!
– My worst haircut was when I got a bob in 2nd grade, just terrible.
– I have been dancing for 15 years!
– I have a love for pit bulls, they are my FAV!
– My favorite thing about being a senior is all the memories I am creating. I am making sure to make everything count this year so I have amazing memories.    

Q. Tell me 2 truths and 1 Lie  

A. 1. I have over 20 relatives living in Australia.
2. I have a birthmark that looks just like a Hershey’s kiss.
3. I have two big pit bulls that I LOVE! (LIE, I only have one)

Q. What kind of look were you going for in your senior photos?  

A. I was going for a sort of urban look! I was lucky enough to have help from some of my very stylish friends who helped me go a little out of my box. I also wanted to have some pretty somewhat elegant pictures so I had 2 outfits that were “senior photos” vibe.    

Q. How was your experience during your senior shoot?  

A. I absolutely LOVED my senior shoot! I would relive that day a million times if I could! Just getting the one on one experience with Tara was amazing!    

Q. What’s one piece of advice you’d give to anyone getting their senior photos taken?  

A. One piece of advice I would give is to get comfortable in front of the camera prior to your shoot. I was lucky enough to work with Tara on a shoot before my senior pictures so I gained experience in front of the camera. This will make you feel more confident in from of the camera and make your pictures look more natural!    

Q. How many outfits did you take?  

A. I had 9 outfits!    

Q. Would you have taken more or less, reasons why?  

A. I personally loved the amount of outfits I took because I think it showed different aspects of me and my style.    

Q. Did you accessorize differently with each outfit?  

A. ACCESSORIES ARE EVERYTHING! Accessorizing your outfits will make each outfit so much better! It can truly bring together and outfit I think! I brought many earring and necklaces which added a lot to my outfits.    

Q. Did you take any props or try to incorporate any activities that you’re in?

A. I incorporated dancing into my senior shoot! I wore my pointe shoes for one outfit and danced on a rooftop! I absolutely loved those pictures!    

Q. Any tips on how to prepare for the session or must have things to bring?  

A. I think that you should pick out your outfits far ahead of time. This way you will feel more relaxed and not stressing out days prior to your shoot. One must have for me was cool shoes, I really loved the shoes I brought because they pulled some outfits together!    

Q. Any tips on hair/makeup? Where did you get your inspiration for this? Did you bring in pictures or have a plan prior to your styling?  

A. I got inspiration from other people. I looked at other’s senior shoots and found what I loved and somewhat went off that! I did not have a picture to base off my styling but I knew what I wanted!    

Q. Did you find a store that had everything you were looking for?

A. Forever 21 has the most amazing clothes! I found almost all my outfits in my shoot from Forever 21! I also used some clothes from Free People, which is my favorite store! Almost all my shoes were Steve Madden and some of my clothes were vintage!    

Q. What ended up being your favorite outfit and why?  

A. My favorite outfit was my last outfit in Chinatown! I wore tight houndstooth pants, a red sparkly top, a conductors hat, and very high heels! I loved how different it was, even though I was skeptical about it at first!    

Q. Let’s talk about locations. What location(s) did you choose for your session? Why did you choose that location? Do you wish you would have gone some place different or would you suggest where you went?  

A. I actually had no clue where I wanted to take my senior pictures! Tara suggested LA and I loved where she chose! I think the area really matched the vibe of all my outfits!    

Q. Is there anything you would have done differently for your shoot?  

A. I wouldn’t change it for the world. I loved my senior shoot!    

Q. What was your favorite thing about your session or the overall experience?  

A. My favorite thing about my senior session was how confident I felt after. Tara made be feel so amazing about my shoot and all the one on one experience I had was very awesome!    

Q. Why do you think senior portraits are important?  

A. I think senior portraits are important because they are a great memory form senior year. They show your personality and style in high school and it definitely was a day I will never forget!  

Q. Why did you choose Tara Rochelle to take your senior pictures?  

A. I chose Tara because she is AMAZING! I have seen her work since I was in 7th grade and I have always wanted her to take my senior pictures. I am so lucky to have been able to work with Tara!
