Let me just tell you how much I love to photograph an engagement session!! They are so much fun and I love getting to know my wedding couples before the big day. It’s like a grown up playdate!! I met J. (yes, thats her entire first name) over 10 years ago at her cousin Josie’s wedding. She called me years later to do some pictures for a book that she was going to be featured in for all of her awesome crafts that she does (view the blog post here from that session with J.). She brings “She’s Crafty” to a whole new meaning!! (Check out her blog here – The Girl with a Curl– for some awesomeness).

So a couple of years after that photo shoot and here I am photographing their engagement sessions and then the wedding this coming October (at the Mitten Building in Redlands) – can’t wait!! We had a blast shooting all over the Griffith Park area and I love that J. brought along her point shoes and other props to incorporate into the shoot. Eric is a big comic book fan and she loves the old classics (the comic shown that J. is holding is of Jane Eyre!!) She hand crafted the big banner with the date on it and used that shot for her “save the date” announcements. Super cute!! I think the shot of them on the grass below is my favorite!!

Soon I’ll be posting a few sample pics of the new Watercolor Engagement Books I am offering. They are gorgeous!!! Love, love, love them!! (Thank you Chelsea for recommending them to me!). If I’m shooting your wedding this year (or next) and you think you might want to do an engagement shoot, I highly, highly recommend it. I can guarantee you both will have a blast and it’s a great chance for us to get to know one another before the big wedding day!!
