I am in love with how Courtenay’s maternity session pictures turned out!! First of all, she’s gorgeous and except for her cute “waddle” you’d probably never even know she was pregnant. When she told me she wanted to do some images with cloth wrapped around her, I wasn’t too sure if it would end up being too cliche’ and cheesy but they totally did not!! She bought a ton of this beautiful plum colored fabric right over at the local Jo-Ann’s (8 yards if you must know) and so instead of wrapping, and wrapping, and wrapping around her, I thought it would be cool to have it drape out to the sides almost like a formal gown. It turned out even better than I’d expected and absolutely no sewing involved!! haha!! I love to photograph pregnancy / maternity session in more of an urban style setting but I thinkI may have discovered a new favorite spot!! It’s nice and private too so it worked out perfectly.

Courtenay waited a bit longer to do her session than I normally recommend (usually around 7-8 months is great) and so when she told me she wanted to literally hike up the huge hill behind her house I was more than a little nervous to say the least. Who knows, maybe it helped speed things along since she went into labor just about 3 days after our shoot!! Congrats on your new beautiful baby girl, Gia!!
