Shelly & Joe had a gorgeous wedding in Santa Barbara at the Montecito Country Club. Shelly incorporated a lot of splashes of color in her flower choices (by Holly Flora) and even used feathers, birds, and peacocks for detail accents. I think my favorite part was Shelly’s super groovy hot pink shoes with giant silver balls on top!! Definitely not something I’ve seen at a wedding before. One of my new favorite videographers, DV Artistry, was there to capture all the “live” action that you just can’t get with still photography. I seriously could have  photographed this beautiful couple all afternoon and had to keep reminding myself that this was a wedding and not a free-for-all fashion shoot for me!! When their old classic car came to pick them up, I just had to sneak in a few more rockin’ shots!! Congrats guys!!

Oh my goodness!! In case you didn’t see their wickedly cool engagement session images, this is Tracy & Tom. Not only are they both stunningly gorgeous they are two of the greatest people. I loved working along with them and getting know their family and friends. I’d already photographed some other people they know, so I felt like I’d known them for awhile. Anyway, they had an amazing huge, huge wedding at the Biltmore downtown (all coordinated by the fabulous Gini Garner) and I don’t think you could ask for a more beautiful day. 

As many of my clients know, I love to shoot in sort of off beat locations. Not places you’d think of for a typical photo shoot. I’ll take a downtown alley over a green grassy park anyday!! Very rarely do I get the chance to shoot more “urban” style for a wedding but this was my lucky day!! Tom and Tracy trusted me and followed me anywhere I wanted to take them (even in Christian Louboutin shoes and a Monique Lhuillier dress!!) Alleys, dirty sidewalks, construction areas, wooden dance floor, Hmmm…. okay!! Thank you guys so much for an awesome shoot!!! 

So…I have been working on a very small in-home studio for a while now and can never seem to get much of it done. Between my regular wedding and location portrait shoots (not to mention orders, editing, albums, etc…) I just can't seem to get it going. I'm hoping to have it ready to go in the next few weeks. It will be priced a bit less than my location shoots and will be for "mini-sessions".  Here are a few samples of what to expect:

Just finished up working on these headshot pics for one of my new favorite clients. If you've been following my blog, you will probably recognize her and her husband from quite a few of the posts. Especially since I've worked with them FOUR times since just last December!! Every shoot has been so fun and this girl is an absolute riot!! I just love her spunky and fun personality. I could hang out with her all day! Tara is a very talented voice over artist and has worked on way to many things to mention (ever heard of Rugrats, Little Mermaid, or Powerpuff Girls?) Thanks for an awesome shoot Tara (love your name by the way!! hehee!)!!!

Met a wonderful new family recently with two of the cutest little girls (next to mine, of course). We shot in and around their place and big sister, Olivia, was more than happy to keep me busy shooting instead of waiting around until little Lyla was ready for me. Something about little girls….just love them!!
