Has anyone seen this recent video by Pink called Perfect? I am so moved by the video and it’s message that I am at a loss for words, which if you know me, is pretty rare!

I love that Pink is reminding us to be ourselves and we may not always fit in. I think that is one of the reasons I have always been drawn to her music, her struggles, and her realness about life. I think the messages out there in the media that we are constantly bombarded with have a huge impact on us and especially to young girls.

I was one of those funky, edgy, silly, artistic girls that didn’t care (or at least tried not too) what everyone else thought. I was a darkroom junkie with me, myself, and my stop bath having a great ‘ol time just about every afternoon. I wasn’t into sports or cheer or any of the “groups and clicks”. I was just trying to figure out who I was and I sometimes am still doing that today even now that I’ve grown up (sort of) and am a mommy of two amazing little girls. I want them to grow up knowing that I think they’re perfect. Perfect as themselves. Perfect and unique, Perfectly imperfect just like me.  I think sometimes we just need someone to remind us once in a awhile.
